Awareness Initiative

WHO: Biomerica, Inc. of Newport Beach, CA (Nasdaq:BMRA) manufacturer
of diagnostic products for early detection of diseases.

WHAT: Biomerica is giving EZ Detect(R) Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT)
away free as a public service during National Colorectal Cancer
Awareness Month in March 2000, in alliance with several major
      health sites.

Simple and sanitary, the 2-minute EZ Detect test identifies
hidden (occult) blood in stool, an early warning sign of colorectal
cancer. EZ Detect requires no handling of stool and has no dietary
restrictions -- improving odds of screening compliance.
The Centers For Disease Control and Prevention recently released
a study of 46,000 people showing that those who use an annual FOBT
have 33 percent fewer colon cancer deaths than people who do not take
the test. Caught early, colorectal cancer is 90 percent curable.
Unfortunately, only 37 percent of all colorectal cancers are detected
at an early stage.

WHERE & WHEN: During March 2000 EZ Detect kits will be available free,
with payment of a shipping and handling charge at
http://www.ezdetect.com. They also will be available at
chain drug stores throughout the United States for about
$8 to $11. (Locations available on the web site.)

WHY: A public service from Biomerica because screening with fecal
occult blood tests can save as many as 30,000 lives a year.
