WHAT:  FREE ASTHMA SCREENING FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS to be provided by
       San Fernando Valley allergy physician.

       19821 RINALDI STREET - CHATSWORTH

WHY:   To promote early detection and treatment and provide free
       information about asthma, other breathing related problems and
       allergies.

       with The American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology
       (ACAAI) in collaboration with The Asthma & Allergy Foundation
       of America, Southern California Chapter (AAFA/SoCal) and Astra

       Asthma is epidemic in California and is rising at a staggering
        rate.
       One out of every 20 people has asthma.
       An estimated 1.8 million California residents suffer from this
        disease.

, Jacob Offenberger, MD will conduct free asthma screenings -- for children and adults -- on Sunday, May 2 at the Porter Ranch Wal-Mart Store located in Chatsworth/Northridge from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This screening program promotes early detection and treatment of asthma, a disease that affects more than 17 million Americans and has killed more than 5,300 persons annually.

People being screened will learn whether they should seek a professional diagnosis for any breathing difficulty and current asthma sufferers can evaluate whether their disease is under control. In addition to the free screening and personal consultation with an allergist, there will be free educational information about asthma and allergies.
