WHAT:
2003 Manhattan Island Marathon Swim
Foster's hits the cold river waters around Manhattan Island
this week to cheer on Clare Payne, a 27-year-old Aussie
long-distance swimmer, during the biggest swim of her life.
Presented by the Manhattan Island Foundation, the 10-hour,
28.5 mile swim will benefit the on-going recovery of New York
City's waterways and will mark the swimmer's biggest challenge
in her seven-year career.
WHEN:
Saturday, June 14

WHERE:
The swim begins at the South Cove, Battery Park City.
Swimmers will proceed up the East River, under Brooklyn Bridge
and through the West Channel to the Harlem River. The race
continues through Spuyten Duyvil to the Hudson River, through
the 79th Street Boat Basin past the Financial Center, and
finishes at South Cove.
VISUAL:
Twenty solo swimmers and nine relay teams will take on the
difficult waters surrounding Manhattan Island with current
temperatures ranging between 60 and 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
The attractive, petite, blonde swimmer will be available for
