(Jan. 30) --(BUSINESS WIRE) Mayors and University Presidents From Across the Country to Discuss Working Relationships
WHAT: "Great Universities and Their Cities," the first-ever national
colloquium exploring academic and local government
relationships. The event is intended to drive understanding of
the enormous benefits that can result from strong partnerships
between universities and the cities that house them. The
sold-out, day-long event, which will draw more than 700
attendees and participants, will also serve as the backdrop
for the inauguration of Case Western Reserve University's new
president, Edward M. Hundert.
The colloquium features best practices in areas from
biotechnology and life sciences to race relations and urban
revitalization through a series of dialogues between some of
the country's leading university presidents and the mayors of
their respective cities about the collaborative role
universities should play in their communities, what has -- and
hasn't -- worked in the past, and lessons learned.
