ADVISORY/First Tijuana-to-Tecate Rail FAM Trip Leaves the Station July 27; Tickets Are Going Fast and Space Is Limited.

ADVISORY...for Saturday (July 27)

What:           Experience the first-ever Tijuana-to-Tecate rail FAM
                trip, complete with a passenger train ride, tour of
                the famous Tecate Brewery and a reception and
                tourism expo at Rancho Tecate. This journey travels
                through gorgeous backcountry scenery as the train
                makes its way through beautiful Matanuco Canyon,
                over the bridges and through the tunnels of the
                Ferrocarril de Tijuana y Tecate. Spaces are limited,
                and reservations are required.

                Passengers will depart from San Diego via 5-star bus
                at 8:30 a.m. on July 27. The train will depart from
                the San Ysidro Station at 9 a.m. and will arrive in
                Tecate at approximately 12 p.m. The trip continues
                with a free tour of the Tecate Brewery. At 1 p.m.,
                Governor Eugenio Elorduy Walther will give remarks
                to begin the "Tianguis Tecate," statewide tourism
                expo at the renowned Rancho Tecate Resort & Country
                Club. Tourist attractions, hotels, restaurants and
                retailers will be among the exhibitors. Free Mexican
                food, mariachi, ballet folklorico and other
                entertainment will also be provided.

                Buses will return passengers to San Diego by 7:30 p.m.

Who:            This trip is organized by The City of Tecate Tourism
                Dept. with the support of the Carrizo Gorge Railway
                Inc. and the San Diego Railroad Museum.  All events
                are open to the public, including the "Tianguis"
                tourism expo at Rancho Tecate.  Reservations are
                required.

When:           Saturday, July 27, 2002
                8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Where:          Train passengers should arrive at the Santa Fe Depot
                in downtown San Diego for transportation to the San
                Ysidro train depot, through Tijuana and continuing
                to the quaint border town of Tecate.

Cost:           Free, but reservations are required.
