      Fireman's Fund and the Burn Institute to Announce Alliance
           on Countywide Fire and Burn Prevention Activities

WHAT:
        Fireman's Fund Heritage(SM), a national community-based
        program that supports firefighters for safer communities, will
        be launched in San Diego on Tuesday, April 6. San Diego County
        will receive up to $1 million in funding from Fireman's Fund
        Insurance Company and will be the first region in the country
        to participate in this program. An event will be held at the
        Firehouse Museum in downtown San Diego on April 6 to announce
        the launch of the local initiative, which will include a
        firefighter grant-giving program and a fire and burn
        prevention public education campaign.

        The following announcements will be made at the event:

        --  Fireman's Fund will award grant funding to 16 local fire
            departments and will announce that additional grants will
            be made available later this year.

        --  The Burn Institute of San Diego and Fireman's Fund will
            announce an alliance to provide the residents of San Diego
            with a fire and burn prevention campaign through
            educational materials, interactive Web sites and community
            involvement opportunities and events throughout the
            County.
