                 Public Workshop and Board of Advisors Meeting
                 Thursday, January 20, 10 a.m.
                 Sacramento Convention Center

WHAT: A business plan for building and operating a high-speed train
      system for California is in its final draft and will be the
      subject of the first HSRA public workshop to be held in
      Sacramento this Thursday. The Sacramento public workshop is the
      first of what will be more than a dozen workshops held in cities
      throughout the state to discuss with the public the elements of
      the plan.

      Members of the HSRA Board of Advisors, comprised of business and
      community leaders will be in attendance to review the business
      plan and provide comment. The results of the public's comments
      will be incorporated to the final business plan, which will be
      submitted to the Legislature in May.

      During its meeting on Wednesday, the HSRA staff will provide the
      schedule of subsequent public workshops for January and
      February.
