ADVISORY/Farmers Insurance Provides Funds for At-Risk Youth.

--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
WHAT: Farmers Insurance will present a $51,000 grant to the Boys &
Girls Clubs of Fresno County to support the highly successful
"Preventing Gangs Through Targeted Outreach" program and the
"SMART Moves" program. Present at the Club's tour of the
facilities, check presentation and general meeting will be:
Pat Hill, football Coach at Fresno State University. Invited
are: Senator Jim Costa, Assemblyman Cruz Bustamante, and Juan
Arambula, Chairman of the Fresno County Board of Supervisors.
Additionally, Jerry Tarkanian, basketball coach at Fresno
        State University, is invited.

The "Preventing Gangs Through Targeted Outreach" program
acknowledges that youth most at risk of gang involvement are
not seeking the constructive environment that the Club has to
offer. The Club uses two primary ways to aggressively reach
out and recruit youth at risk of gang involvement: Outreach
and Referral. Once in the program, the youth is mainstreamed
        into regular Club activities.

The SMART Moves program is a nationally acclaimed prevention
program designed to assist young people in resisting alcohol,
drug use, and premature sexual activity. The program targets
three age levels: 10-12, 13-15 and older youth. A prevention
team consisting of parents, staff members, community
representatives and older teenagers helps implement and operate
        the programs.
