Visitors During Science Education Program


WHAT:       To kick off ExxonMobil Arbor Day at the
            Dallas Arboretum, ExxonMobil will donate a
            historical Sam Houston Kissing Burr Oak to
            the Dallas Arboretum. Representatives of
            the City of Dallas, ExxonMobil, Dallas
            Arboretum and elementary school children
            from Brentfield Elementary and Peeler
            Elementary will dedicate the tree.

            During the Arbor Day celebration, visitors
            will receive a tree sapling donated by
            ExxonMobil. Educational activities for
            visitors to the Dallas Arboretum will
            include tree exploration tables where
            children can create rubbings of bark and
            leaves; expert guidance from Master
            Gardeners and Dallas Trees and Parks
            Foundation; demonstrations by professional
            tree climber Steve Houser, and wagon rides
            in the Texas Pioneer Adventure exhibit.

            Dallas Councilmember Veletta Forsythe Lill
            Special guests include community leaders and over 200
            elementary school children

BACKGROUND: As part of its ongoing support of the Dallas Arboretum,
            ExxonMobil is sponsoring a daylong celebration of Arbor
            Day.

            ExxonMobil is the lead education sponsor
            for the Dallas Arboretum. Since 1991,
            ExxonMobil has provided more than $500,000
            in grants to the Dallas Arboretum to
            support several educational programs. In
            2002, ExxonMobil continued its support with
            a $50,000 grant.
