ADVISORY/Experts Available to Discuss Survey Saying Fliers' Confident in Air Safety.

Business Editors

ADVISORY...

--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 29, 2002
TOPIC: A survey conducted by the American Automobile Association found that 75 percent of travelers were confident that flying is safe, according to an article by CNN. The majority of the 1,022 fliers surveyed said they would be willing to pay more than the $10-per-ticket fee for additional security. Eighty-one percent of the passengers opposed postponing the deadline for installing explosive detection machines that would be used to screen baggage. Two weeks ago, airport officials told Congress the original December 31 deadline could not be met, the article says.
