ADVISORY/Experts Available to Discuss Senate Authorization for Bush to Use Military Force Against Iraq.

Business Editors

ADVISORY...

--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 11, 2002
TOPIC: In a 77-23 vote, the Senate authorized President Bush to use military force against Iraq if diplomacy fails to diffuse Iraq's chemical, biological and nuclear weapons capabilities, according to an article by USA Today. Thursday, the House of Representatives passed the measure in a 296-133 vote. Lawmakers now hope the United Nations Security Council will apply more pressure on Saddam Hussein to disarm and avoid war. Opponents warned that passing the measure is setting a dangerous precedent as they believe there isn't sufficient evidence that Iraq is going to strike against the United States first.
