Dr. Robert L. Goldberg is an associate clinical professor of medicine
and director of the Occupational and Environmental Medicine Residency
Training Program at the University of California, San Francisco School
of Medicine in the Division of Occupational and Environmental
Medicine, Department of Medicine. Dr Goldberg's work is currently
focused on research and education in ergonomics and the prevention and
medical management of work-related musculoskeletal disorders. He is
actively developing internet-based ergonomics and medical education
courses. Dr. Goldberg has lectured widely and has written on the
topics of work-related musculoskeletal disorders, their prevention and
medical management, and ergonomics. He chaired the treatment
guidelines committee of the Industrial Medical Council of the State of
California and led the effort to adopt guidelines for the evaluation
and treatment of common work-related injuries and illnesses for
workers in California. Those guidelines formed the foundation for the
ACOEM Guidelines that were subsequently published.

Professor Alan Hedge, of Cornell University, Department of Design &
Environmental Analysis, has conducted 25 years of research and
teaching activities focused on issues of workplace design and
workplace ergonomics as these affect the health, comfort and
productivity of workers. He conducts research on carpal tunnel
syndrome risk factors for workers, on alternative workstation designs,
on alternative keyboard and input device system designs and on the
performance and health effects of postural strain.
