TOPIC: Bridgestone/Firestone announced Wednesday that they would pay $41.5
million to avoid lawsuits regarding 6.5 million defective tires that were
recalled more than a year ago. According to The Associated Press, each state
will receive $500,000 under the settlement. The company will also spend $5
million on a consumer education campaign and $10 million to reimburse
attorneys' fees for the states. Since the recall, federal investigators have
