TOPIC: As many as two million Americans may be using credit or debit cards
issued by offshore banks to maintain easy access to hidden income, the Internal
Revenue Service disclosed this week. According to a story by MSNBC, agency
officials put tax evaders on notice that they were sharply expanding their
crackdown on the use of offshore accounts. The agency said it has already
opened hundreds of investigations, both criminal and civil, into individual
taxpayers -- and said that many more are to come, the story said. In addition,
recent IRS court filings also identified Web sites for a number of
international banks and advisers pitching legal offshore services, but if the
