TOPIC: Mayor Rudolph Giuliani's leadership through last week's attack on the
World Trade Center has resulted in calls for legislation that would allow him
an extended term, according to an article by The Associated Press. Giuliani,
whose second term ends Dec. 31, is legally not allowed to seek a third term.
Extending Giuliani's term would require an election and a majority vote by city
residents, however legislative leaders do not think such as election will
happen, the article says. Primary elections to pick Democratic and Republican
candidates for the November election have been rescheduled from Sept. 11 to
