Business Editors

ADVISORY...

--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 13, 2003
TOPIC: Researchers at the University of California at Davis reviewed recent studies that suggest chocolate has health benefits and found that the main flavonoids in cocoa, flava-3-ols, can be linked to a lowered risk of cardiovascular disease, according to an article by HealthScoutNews. Furthermore, one third of the fat in chocolate consists of oleic acid, which is a monosaturated fat that is beneficial to the heart. Experts say to truly appreciate chocolate's flavor, one should eat it on an empty stomach and the chocolate should be between 66 degrees F and 77 degrees F.
