TOPIC: A report from the American Highway Users Alliance The American Highway Users Alliance (AHUA) is a non-profit advocacy group formed in 1932 representing motorists and automobile-related businesses in the United States. The group supports building roads and streamlining environmental approval for highway construction, claiming that  shows traffic bottlenecks in U.S. cities have increased by 40% since 1999, according to an article by USATODAY.com. The study claims the number of bottlenecks increased from 167 in 1999 to 233 in 2003. Commuters in Los Angeles, who take the Ventura Freeway at Interstate 405, experience the worst traffic bottleneck as they can spend up to five hours in traffic jams each day.
