TOPIC: In a 64-33 vote, the Senate voted to ban partial birth abortion, according to an article by The Associated Press. The legislation is expected to pass in the Republican-controlled House this spring. The bill prohibits doctors from performing an "overt act" to kill a partially delivered fetus, except in cases where the procedure is necessary to save the life of the mother, the article says.
