Business Editors

ADVISORY...

--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 9, 2003
TOPIC: President Bush signed legislation Wednesday that will extend unemployment benefits for 2.5 million Americans, according to an article by The Associated Press. Those who have used up their 26 weeks of state aid will get an additional 13 weeks of benefits. The measure was passed on a voice vote in the Senate, while the House passed the $7.2 billion bill 416-4. Democrats in the House and the Senate criticized the bill saying more should have been provided than 13 weeks of benefits, the article says.
