WHAT:  Emulex Corp.'s (Nasdaq:EMLX) GN9000/VI host bus adapter is
       utilized by Network Appliance to demonstrate the
       high-performance capabilities of the Direct Access File System
       (DAFS) standard beginning today at Oracle OpenWorld in San
       Francisco. The demonstration, located in booth 1926, includes
       the Emulex GN9000/VI host bus adapter (HBA), a Network
       Appliance F840 Filer and Oracle9i database.

       Emulex's GN9000/VI reduces central processing unit overhead and
       speeds up file and database access over standard gigabit
       Ethernet. Network Appliance, a leading provider of
       network-attached data access and content management systems,
       also incorporates the GN9000/VI into its F800 Series filers to
       support DAFS. Emulex also showcases its GN9000/SI iSCSI HBA and
       its 2Gb/s LP9002L Fibre Channel HBA in booth 543.
