Wind River will preview its WIND RIVER(R) PLATFORM for Safety Critical - ARINC 653, the market-specific integrated embedded platform designed for safety critical aerospace applications.

Wind River will also address its recent partnerships with Dy4 and Spectrum Signal Processing. The Dy4 partnership provides commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware solutions and certifiable board support packages (BSPs) for customers that need to address safety standards defined by Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics (RTCA DO-178B) and the Avionics Application Software Standard Interface (ARINC 653). The partnership with Spectrum Signal Processing and Wind River enables the first integrated platform for software defined radio and signals intelligence development applications.

-- BAE Systems' JCAD ChemSentry. The JCAD was developed using Wind River's Tornado(R) integrated development environment and runs the VxWorks(R) real-time operating system (RTOS) as well as network management software. The JCAD ChemSentry, used in Operation Iraqi Freedom, provides local detection and early warning of chemical agents and toxic industrial chemicals for affected vehicles, equipment and personnel.

-- European Space Agency's Project for On-Board Autonomy (PROBA): The PROBA micro-satellite system was built with Wind River's market leading VxWorks RTOS. It is a fully autonomous spacecraft, which operates virtually unaided by ESA staff on the ground.

-- Raytheon's Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS): The WAAS was built on Wind River's Tornado for DO-178B integrated development environment and runs the VxWorks RTOS. The FAA recently approved the WAAS system for commercial flight navigation use as it met all system and software requirements.
