WHAT: Details on a countywide economic recovery plan will be
unveiled at the end of the Nov. 1 Economic Action Summit
(EAS). Recommendations will cover seven regional areas and
address four main topics:
-- LAX/visitor recovery
-- Activation of public projects
-- Greenlighting private sector projects
-- Rapid redeployment of workforce
WHO: EAS chairman David Abel will outline the steps toward
economic recovery devised by conference attendees. LAEDC
chief economist Jack Kyser will provide further details, as
will business leaders from seven regions in the county who
participated in the conference.
Other opportunities for coverage earlier that day include:
-- 8 a.m. opening session featuring California State Assembly
Speaker Robert Hertzberg, LAEDC chief economist Jack Kyser
and findings from a just-released McKinsey report on

The Economic Action Summit (EAS) is a combined effort of the
County of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Economic
Development Corp. (LAEDC) and the City of Los Angeles.
Sponsors include the L.A. County Workforce Investment Board
(WIB), the California WIB, and the California Space
Authority. The EAS mission is to devise a countywide economic
recovery plan, increase business assistance and create a
