O'Reilly Open Source Software Convention

WHAT: On July 19, Andy Hertzfeld, co-founder and software
wizard of Eazel, Inc. (www.eazel.com), an open source
company that is working to make Linux easier to use,
will present the keynote address at this year's
O'Reilly Open Source Software Convention, the world's
largest event dedicated to open source. In his keynote
entitled, "Open Source and the Personal Computer
Revolution" Hertzfeld will travel back to the early
days of the personal computer industry and open source
development, and reflect on the evolutionary changes
and the current open source movement. The O'Reilly
Convention brings together open source leaders and
offers informative sessions on topics including Linux,
Apache, Mozilla, and sendmail.

ANDY HERTZFELD
BACKGROUND: Andy Hertzfeld is a software industry veteran who
designed and implemented a large portion of the
original Macintosh system software, including the User
Interface Toolbox. He has designed groundbreaking
software for a number of Macintosh products and
co-founded General Magic in 1990. Hertzfeld is
passionate about writing groundbreaking software that
makes computers easier and more fun to use.
