                publishing computer books, organizing conferences,

    EAZEL
BACKGROUND: Founded in August, 1999, Eazel has an experienced
senior management team that includes three of the
members of the original Macintosh team at Apple. Mike
Boich (Eazel CEO), went on from Apple to become CEO of
Radius, then Rendition, Bud Tribble (Eazel VP of
Engineering), co-founded Next Computer, and was
formerly the CTO of the Sun-Netscape Alliance, and
Andy Hertzfeld (Eazel co-founder), was a co-founder of
General Magic after he left Apple.

Hertzfeld's enthusiasm for developing software using
the open source model, combined with his experience as
a leading user interface designer, gave him the
impetus to start building a better Linux desktop. The
business and engineering team he has assembled are
passionate about providing the benefits of Linux to
                millions of users.

In addition to usability, the Eazel team is focused on
an additional problem that Linux and other operating
systems share: That users without extensive technical
knowledge have a difficult time managing and
maintaining their computers. Eazel's system management
services, many of which are delivered via the web,
help to solve this problem. For more information about
the company, visit the Eazel Web site at
                www.eazel.com.
