ADVISORY/Eastern Region 2001 Taquito Eating Finals To Be Held At Michigan State University On Tuesday, April 24.

ADVISORY for Tuesday... April 24

Up to fifty Michigan State University Michigan State University, at East Lansing; land-grant and state supported; coeducational; chartered 1855. It opened in 1857 as Michigan Agricultural College, the first state agricultural college.  students will compete in the Eastern Region Taquito Eating Championship on Tuesday, April 24, 5 p.m. on the Shaw Hall Patio (facing the Red Cedar red cedar: see juniper.  River) off Shaw Lane between Farm Lane and Bogue Street, to qualify for the 2001 National Taquito Eating Championship Finals.

The male and female who can eat 10 El Monterey Chicken or Shredded Beef Flour Taquitos in the fastest time will be declared the Eastern Region Winners.

Regional winners will be flown to Chicago to compete in the Finals to be held on May 7, 11:30 a.m. during the Food Marketing Institute (FMI FMI Fondo Monetario Internacional (Spanish: International Monetary Fund)

Dates and Universities for the four Regional competitions are:

Eastern Region: April 24 -- Michigan State University

Northern Region: April 26 -- Boise State University

Each school will receive a $1000 scholarship from El Monterey(R) Taquitos who is co-sponsoring the Championship with each participating University. The Michigan State University Shaw Hall staff and Special Events Residence Hall Association is co-sponsoring the Eastern Region Finals.
