California High-Speed Rail The California High-Speed Rail project is a proposed high-speed rail system in the state of California. The system is being planned by the California High-Speed Rail Authority, which will design, build, and operate the system.  Authority


WHO: The California High-Speed Rail Authority Including: Joe
     Petrillo, CHSR Board Chair, local elected officials, engineering
     consultants, business and labor leaders as well as community
     representatives.

WHAT: In San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Fresno, California's
      High-Speed Rail Authority will release the Draft Program
      Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact Statement
      detailing how high-speed trains are the preferred transportation
      option for:

    --  Strengthening Californians Economy to the tune of 450,000
        jobs;

    --  Relieving traffic congestion;

    --  Protecting the environment; and,

    --  Supporting the travel needs of future generations.
