WHAT: The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power
(LADWP) and the Los Angeles Dodgers are teaming up
to bring one of the partnership's most welcomed
community outreach programs -- Dodger Jams -- to
Berendo Middle School. Dodger Jams is a school
assembly featuring live music and entertainment
combined with motivational messages. The program is
designed to award students for achievement and
encourage them to get involved in their community.
The program will focus on the theme: "It's all about
T.E.A.M. -- Teamwork, Effort, Attitude and
Motivation."
Dodger Odalis Perez understands this theme well and
put it to the test on Saturday when he and his
teammates worked hard to prevent any Met from
reaching base in the first six-plus innings of the
game. Former Dodger Lee Lacy will draw on his 16
years in Major League Baseball to teach the
students.
