WHAT: The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is
teaming up with the Los Angeles Dodgers to offer the popular
Power Hitter Clinic and Competition. The clinic will provide
baseball fans ages 6-14 an opportunity to learn baseball
fundamentals from Dodger centerfielder Dave Roberts and coach
Manny Mota. Following the clinic, the children will compete
in a hitting competition with winners advancing to the finals
at Dodger Stadium on September 14.

baseball clinic and hitting competition. Participants and
spectators will also visit the LADWP community booth, where
they will receive goodies and learn about water and energy
conservation.
WHY: This is the fourth of six LADWP Power Hitter Competitions
planned throughout Los Angeles during the summer of 2002.
The event is one of many that LADWP sponsors to support the
community it serves and the children of Los Angeles. Other
events include the Community Salute and Dodger Jams
programs.
