Dozens of young athletes will step up to the plate

at the Seoul Seoul (sā`l, sā`l, sōl), city (1995 pop. 10,229,262), capital of South Korea, NW South Korea, on the Han River.  International Park

What:      The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) and
           the Los Angeles Dodgers are teaming up to host the final
           Power Hitter Clinic and Competition of the baseball season
           on the Dodger Dream Field at the Seoul International Park.
           The Power Hitter Clinic and Competition will begin with
           Dodger minor league pitcher Hung-Chih Kuo - the first
           Taiwanese high school player to sign a major league
           contract - and legendary Dodger coach Manny Mota leading
           dozens of boys and girls, ages 7 - 14 in hitting, pitching
           and catching drills.

           Following the clinic, the children will compete in a
           hitting competition with the winners advancing to a final
           contest to be held at Dodger Stadium later in the season.

Why:       This is the final of five LADWP Power Hitter event planned
           at Los Angeles city parks during the 2003 baseball season.
           The LADWP Children's Exhibit will also be there, staffed by
           members of the LADWP Speakers Bureau to educate the kids
           and their families about water conservation and the wise
           use of electricity.
