TOPIC: A nationwide report released this week by the Consumer Federation of
America and the Consumers Union suggests that more than half of the 1,900
participants do not have Internet access at home. Of the 58 percent who are
"disconnected," more than half said they are completely unfamiliar with what
the Internet is or how it could help them. Forty percent said they do not
intend to get connected in the next four years. The report alleges that the
findings show a "digital divide" that places large segments of the population
at a disadvantage, especially as Internet-use becomes more widespread. EXPERTS:
