WHAT: Nominations are now open for the 9th Annual Deloitte &
Touche Technology Fast 500 and Fast 50 programs. The Fast 500
ranks the fastest growing technology companies in North
America. The Fast 50 is a regional ranking of the fastest
growing technology companies in 20 regions in the United
States and Canada.
HOW: Winners are selected based on the percentage of growth in
revenues from 1998 to 2002. To be considered, Fast 500 and
Fast 50 entrants must meet the following criteria:
-- Be a technology company, defined as follows:
-- Owns proprietary technology that contributes to a
significant portion of the company's operating revenues.
Using other companies' technology in a unique way does not
qualify.
-- Devotes a significant proportion of revenues to research
and development of technology.
-- 1998 operating revenues must be at least $50,000 USD or
$75,000 CD and 2002 operating revenues must be at least
$1 million USD or CD.
-- Be in business a minimum of five years.
-- Be headquartered within North America.
-- For Fast 50 programs, visit www.fast50.com for the
individual geographic boundary requirements.
In addition, the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500 will recognize
25 "Rising Star" winners, chosen from companies that have been in
business a minimum of three years, but less than five. Criteria to be
eligible for the "Rising Star" status is the same as the Fast 500,
except the designation is based on percentage revenue growth over
three years (2000 to 2002). These companies will be recognized as
"Rising Stars."
Companies may nominate themselves or be nominated by a third party.
Winners are ranked by Deloitte & Touche based strictly on percentage
of revenue growth between 1998 and 2002.
WHEN: Nominations are due by May 31, 2003. Fast 500 winners will
be announced in October 2003. Fast 50 announcement dates vary.
