WHAT: Nominations are now open for the ninth annual Deloitte &
Touche North Carolina Technology Fast 50 program. The
Technology Fast 50 is a regional ranking of the fastest
growing technology companies in 20 regions throughout the
United States and Canada.
HOW: Winners are selected based on the percentage of growth in
revenues from 1998 to 2002. To be considered, North Carolina
Technology Fast 50 entrants must meet the following criteria:
-- Be a technology company, defined as follows:
-- Owns proprietary technology that contributes to a
significant portion of the company's operating revenues.
Using other companies' technology in a unique way does not
qualify.
-- Devotes a significant proportion of revenues to research
and development of technology.
-- Have 1998 operating revenues of at least $50,000, and 2002
operating revenues of at least $1 million.
-- Be in business a minimum of five years.
-- Be a public or private company headquartered in North
Carolina. Subsidiaries and divisions are not eligible
unless they have some public ownership and are separately
traded.
In addition, Deloitte & Touche will recognize "Rising Star"
winners, chosen from companies that have been in business a
minimum of three years, but less than five. Criteria to be
eligible for the "Rising Star" status is the same as the North
Carolina Technology Fast 50, except the designation is based on
percentage revenue growth over three years (2000 to 2002). These
companies will be recognized as "Rising Stars."
WHEN: Nominations are due by May 31, 2003. The North Carolina
Technology Fast 50 winners will be announced in July and
recognized at an awards ceremony in August. All applicants may
nominate themselves or be nominated by a third party.
