When:     Thursday, June 10, 2004 at 10 a.m.

Location: Pittsburgh's North Shore on the Great Lawn, between Heinz
          Field and PNC Park

Overview:
9:15 a.m. Hundreds of Del Monte employees and their pets will walk
          from Del Monte's current building along the North Shore
          Trail to the Great Lawn

10 a.m.   The event will include remarks from:
           -- Mayor Tom Murphy
           -- County Executive Dan Onorato
           -- Art Rooney, Pittsburgh Steelers
           -- Rick Wolford, Del Monte Foods Chairman and CEO
           -- Frank Kass, Chairman, Continental Real Estate Companies

           And, appearances by Charlie the Tuna, Sweetie Pea and
           Snocrates, the Snausages Dog

           Remarks will be followed by an unveiling of an over-sized
           image of the building and the Del Monte "Paws for
           Posterity" employee event, where more than thirty employees
           and their dogs will simultaneously capture individual paw
           prints in concrete, commemorating their participation in
           the ceremony and creating a lasting addition to the new
           building

Details:   In January of 2004, Del Monte Foods announced plans to
           relocate approximately 600 of its nearly 1,200
           Pittsburgh-based employees to a new six story, 270,000
           square foot office building.  The new building will be
           developed and constructed by Continental/Nationwide Realty
           Investors partnership.  Del Monte will lease approximately
           178,000 square feet of the office space.  The building is
           expected to be completed in late 2005.
