WHAT: World renown pop star and Broadway actress Deborah Gibson is slated to
appear at Sam Goody in Roosevelt Field Mall to autograph her brand new album,
M.Y.O.B., on Saturday, April 7. The appearance follows her live performance on
NBC's Today Show at Rockefeller Plaza on Saturday morning. WHO: Deborah Gibson
exploded onto the pop music scene at the age of sixteen and became the youngest
person ever to write, produce and perform a No. 1 single ("Foolish Beat"), a
title which she still proudly holds today. To date, Gibson has sold more than
16 million albums and has had an extraordinary career which has garnered her
No. 1 Billboard hits, Platinum albums, ASCAP Songwriter of the Year honors and
sold-out audiences around the world. In addition to her dynamic success as a
singer and songwriter, Gibson has performed in front of worldwide audiences
with her many starring roles in theater productions including "Eponine" in Les
Miserables, "Sandy" and "Rizzo" in Grease, "Belle" in Disney's Beauty an the
Beast, and most recently as "Cinderella" in the national production of Rodgers
and Hammerstein's Cinderella. Gibson released her most recent album M.Y.O.B.
(Mind Your Own Business), on March 6, 2001, on her own label Golden Egg
Records. M.Y.O.B. includes mostly original material written or co-written by
Gibson and is comprised of sassy upbeat dance/pop tunes, live funk and world
