About DataDirect Technologies DataDirect Technologies is the leading provider of components for connecting software to data and for XML query technology. Using standards-based technology, DataDirect Technologies' components ensure consistent behavior and performance across diverse environments such as J2EE (Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition) A platform from Sun for building distributed enterprise applications. J2EE services are performed in the middle tier between the user's machine and the enterprise's databases and legacy information systems. , .NET, Web and client/server. With the most comprehensive support for ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity) A database programming interface from Microsoft that provides a common language for Windows applications to access databases on a network. , JDBC (Java DataBase Connectivity) A programming interface that lets Java applications access a database via the SQL language. Since Java interpreters (Java Virtual Machines) are available for all major client platforms, this allows a platform-independent database , ADO.NET and XML, DataDirect Technologies helps developers bring software to market faster by speeding development, integration and deployment. DataDirect Connect for SQL/XML is the first database-independent implementation of the SQL SQL in full Structured Query Language. Computer programming language used for retrieving records or parts of records in databases and performing various calculations before displaying the results. 2003 XML publishing functions, which allow SQL queries to create XML documents as results. DataDirect Connect for SQL/XML is designed to be easily embeddable in Java programs. DataDirect is currently developing a database-independent implementation of XQuery, which is also designed to be easily embeddable in Java applications A Java program that is run stand alone. The Java Virtual Machine in the client or server is interpreting the instructions. Contrast with Java applet. See servlet. . For more information, please visit www.datadirect.com.
