WHO: Bob Melancon is the Managing Principal of Melancon &
Company, a Dallas, Texas based, Retained Executive
Search and Consulting firm with roots dating back to
1973. He is also a noted speaker, writer, and author
-- and is widely considered an authority on the
subject of executive selection.
Bob graduated from Loyola University where he
received a bachelor's degree (cum laude) in Business
Administration with a minor in Labor Management, and
holds NASD Series 6 and 63 securities licenses.
Prior to entering the executive search profession,
he enjoyed a highly successful corporate career in
human resources management with three of the
country's leading Fortune 50 corporations -- Shell
Oil Company, Celanese Corporation, and Frito-Lay,
Inc.
In 1980, Bob left the corporate world to become an
executive search consultant, and has served as the
Managing Principal of Melancon & Company for the
past 20+ years. His background in executive
recruitment is unique in that he has been involved
in the staffing process from all perspectives -- as
the candidate being recruited, as a representative
of the hiring corporation, and as a search
consultant serving as an agent for all parties in
the recruitment process.
