WHAT: The DGA African American Steering Committee is hosting a
      tribute to Dr. Maya Angelou, director, poet, educator,
      historian, best-selling author, actress, playwright,
      civil-rights activist and producer. The evening will feature
      guests who have worked with Dr. Angelou, as well as those who
      have been influenced by her work.

WHEN: Thursday, May 13, 2004
      VIP Reception: 6:30 pm
      Program: 7:30 pm

WHERE: DGA Headquarters
       7920 Sunset Boulevard
       Los Angeles, CA 90046
       (Reception in Atrium; Program in DGA Theatre 1)

WHO: Louis Gossett, Jr. will moderate the conversation with Dr.
     Maya Angelou. Guest speakers will include: Neema Barnette, LeVar
     Burton, Diahann Carroll, Kasi Lemmons, John Singleton and Alfre
     Woodard.

     There will be a press area set up in the lobby.
