Ritz-Carlton is a brand of luxury hotel and resort with 63 properties that are located in major cities and exclusive resort destinations of Lodge, Reynolds Plantation Plantation, city (1990 pop. 66,692), Broward co., SE Fla., a residential suburb of Fort Lauderdale; inc. 1953. What: John Winterhawk, a Muscogee Creek Indian Spiritual Leader,
will perform a Native American ground blessing ceremony to
celebrate the completion of The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds
Plantation's golf clubhouse. Each room of the
35,000-square-foot golf clubhouse will be "smudged" with burnt
sage according to Native American tradition. The ceremony will
conclude with Native American dancing and music.
Where: The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation, Lake Oconee
Trail, Greensboro, GA Take I-20 East (from Atlanta) I-20 West
(from Augusta) to exit 130; go south on Highway 44. Continue
on Highway 44 approximately 6 miles. Turn left onto Linger
Longer Road into Reynolds Plantation. (A Texaco gas station is
on the right.) Continue for approximately two miles, following
signs to Reynolds Plantation. At the security gate you will
receive directions to the Ground Blessing ceremony site.
