Business Editors/High Tech Writers

COMDEX The former, premier computer trade show in the U.S. Although it grew into an end user event, it was originally created for dealers and distributors (it was the COMputer Dealers EXposition).  Fall 2002

--(BUSINESS WIRE)

WHAT: Wireless Panel Discussion and Media Q&A

The growing adoption of high-speed, wireless connectivity
will quickly take us to a tipping point in terms of ubiquity
of infrastructure - and continues to offer major opportunity
for technical innovation and financial reward for vendors.
The 802.11x series of technologies continue to grow on the
local area, while new approaches to high-speed wireless wide
area networks are emerging from their development stages.
Taken together with the developments in security and
application integration, wireless technologies offer the
ability to tackle business problems in a radically different
way, with tremendous savings of time and cost, not to
          mention additional effectiveness.

But questions on competing standards for the enterprise and
the home, the future of broadband and the viability of 3G
loom large. To answer these questions and share their
visions of a wireless future, senior executives from
Hewlett-Packard and IBM will join moderator Mike Millikin,
Senior Vice President, COMDEX, in a telephone panel
          discussion.

Media are invited to join Lara Kahler, Manager, HP Mobility
Solutions, Office of Corporate Strategy and Technology for
Hewlett-Packard; and, Ron Sperano, Program Director, Mobile
Market Development, IBM Personal Computing Division. The
discussion, which will take the form of a 30-minute
telephone debate, will be followed by a ten minute Q&A.

WHEN: The Wireless Panel Discussion and Q&A will be conducted via
conference call on Wednesday, November 6 at
          1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT. All media interested in
participating in the call may RSVP to Jennifer Saul by
          5:00 p.m. ET/ 2:00 p.m. PT on Tuesday, November 5.
NOTE: The dial-in number for the Wireless Panel conference
call will be distributed to RSVP respondents only.
