WHAT:         Hundreds of special needy children from schools
              throughout Los Angeles will make their own colorful
              costumes from dramatic fabrics supplied by the Costume
              Designers Guild in the morning and then wear them in the
              annual Samichlaus Parade. The event, also sponsored by
              various local businesses and the Swiss Consulate, is a
              continuation of a special annual Swiss celebration of
              Samichlaus, styled after an eighth Century Swiss man who
              started the children's tradition of giving while sharing
              achievements and misbehaviors.

WHEN:         Friday, December 6, 1:00 PM for Parade;
              10:00 AM - 2:00 PM for entire experience.
              Best coverage at: 1:00 PM

WHERE:        GRIFFITH PARK, by the old zoo picnic area (follow signs)

WHO:          Francine Lecoultre, a famed member of the Costume
              Designers Guild, is organizer and spokesperson for this
              event. Ms. Lecoultre has designed original costumes for
              Jennifer Lopez, Vincent D'Onofrio, Whoopi Goldberg,
              Brendan Frasier, Uma Thurman, Guy Pearce and Lilli
              Taylor and has worked extensively in film, television
              and stage.

VISUAL
OPPORTUNITIES: Hundreds of young needy children making their own
               costumes from 10:00 AM, picnicking and then parading
               through Griffith Park at 1:00 PM.
