ADVISORY/Consumer Confidence Declining.

Business Editors

ADVISORY...

--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 31, 2001
TOPIC: According to a study by the Conference Board's Consumer Research Center,
consumer confidence reportedly is at its lowest level in four years. Experts
said the reason appears to be a growing fear of recession, according to a story
in USA Today. The Conference Board index is based on a monthly survey of about
5,000 U.S. households, the story said. Economists allegedly consider it an
important indicator because consumer spending accounts for about two-thirds of
the nation's economic activity, the story said. EXPERTS: ExpertSource can offer
