ADVISORY/Congressional Websites to Get Boost From Usability Expert.

What: Dr. Jakob Nielsen, called the "the smartest person on the
Web" by Ziff-Davis Network, will conduct a seminar for
congressional staffers on how to create websites that
deliver on the promise to serve and inform their
constituents. Nielsen's talk, sponsored by the Congressional
Management Foundation, will set forth a specific set of
methodologies that can be implemented to ensure the
usability of a website.

Who: Dr. Jakob Nielsen is well known in the Web community for his
outspoken opinions on the current state of website design
and function: He argues that a website must deliver a
quality user experience, or suffer the death of a million
mouse clicks as users hit their "back" buttons. Nielsen is a
principal of Silicon Valley-based Nielsen Norman Group
(www.nngroup.com) which advises corporations on how to
succeed in the "age of the consumer" by applying good
usability methodology to their core products and services,
and now -- importantly -- their websites. Nielsen is the
author of "Usability Engineering" and "Multimedia and
Hypertext: The Internet and Beyond" and is finishing

Architect."
