WHAT:   "The Economic Climate and its Effects on Los Angeles
        Nonprofit and Community-Based Organizations," featuring
        economic experts and foundation and corporate leaders, will
        serve as the lunchtime forum at the second annual RAISE
        Summit, designed to energize local community and nonprofit
        groups to stimulate change throughout Los Angeles. The daylong
        event, expected to draw 400 to 600 attendees, will offer
        interactive sessions on fundraising, strategic planning,
        advocacy, research, and partnering with the Los Angeles
        Department of Water and Power's (LADWP) Green LA Programs and
        more, as well as exhibits featuring additional information.

        The LADWP Green LA Programs and Center for Nonprofit
        Management will host the summit, with assistance from about 35
        community partners. LADWP works with community-based and
        nonprofit organizations to implement energy and water
        conservation and other environmental programs.

WHEN:   Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

        --  Lunchtime forum on the economic climate:
            1:15 p.m. to 3 p.m.

        --  Opening remarks on "Community-Based Organizations as the
            Spirit of Los Angeles":
            8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

             Los Angeles City Councilwoman Janice Hahn)
