News Editors/Assignment Desks

ADVISORY...for Monday Monday: see week.  (April 19)

NAB2004

--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

CodecSys

The Multi-Codec System Compresses and Delivers

Full-Screen, Full-Motion Video Video transmission that changes the image 30 frames per second (30 fps). Motion pictures are run at 24 fps, which is the minimum frequency required to eliminate the perception of moving frames and make the images appear visually fluid to the eye.  -- Even HD --

at a Fraction of the Bandwidth bandwidth

Measurement of the capacity of a communications signal. For digital signals, the bandwidth is the data speed or rate, measured in bits per second (bps). For analog signals, it is the difference between the highest and lowest frequency components, measured in hertz

Lunch Will be Provided to the Media

What: Rod Tiede, president and CEO of Broadcast International,
will host an exclusive media lunch and demonstration of
CodecSys in its booth. Additionally, Broadcast International
partners will be on hand to discuss the video application
          benefits of CodecSys.

By deploying multiple codes, CodecSys takes advantage of the
codec that most efficiently processes a particular scene, or
even frame, of video and then switches on the fly to another
codec that is better suited to the next scene or frame.
Exploiting the best attributes of multiple codecs enables 50
to 75 percent reductions in bandwidth compared to single
codec solutions. As new codecs are developed, they can
          easily be integrated into CodecSys.

Full-Screen, Full-Motion at a fraction of the bandwidth:

                 -HD quality at 3 MB
                 -DVD quality at 512 K
                 -VHS quality at 256 K

When: Monday, April 19, 2004, 12 p.m. (Noon)

Where: CodecSys Booth SL3418, Las Vegas Convention Center
