Thurgood Marshall (July 2, 1908 – January 24, 1993) was an American jurist and the first African American to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States.
 Academy in Harlem Harlem, residential and business section of upper Manhattan, New York City, bounded roughly by 110th St., the East River and Harlem River, 168th St., Amsterdam Ave., and Morningside Park.

          WHAT: The Coca-Cola Company and The Apollo Theater
                Foundation, Inc. (ATF) have joined forces to establish
                The Coca-Cola Apollo Theater Academy (CCATA), a
                specialized, in-school, one-day "school without walls"
                program that introduces youth to careers in the music
                business and the entertainment field at large. The
                project will rotate to tri-state area schools, with
                the next stop scheduled for Harlem, New York at the
                Thurgood Marshall Academy.

                Hidden Beach Recordings artist Jill Scott has signed
                on as a national spokesperson for this one-of-a-kind,
                hands on educational program. Students will learn
                about business management, talent negotiations,
                entertainment marketing and other skills from industry
                experts. The program will end with an interactive Q&A
                panel featuring the Hidden Beach roster: Jill Scott,
                KINDRED, Jeff Bradshaw and music producers Andre
                Harris and Vidal Davis (Jill Scott, Michael Jackson,
                Floetry, Lil Kim, Jennifer Lopez).

                The Coca-Cola Apollo Theater Academy is a three-year
                project funded by a million dollar grant from
                Coca-Cola. Apollo Theater Foundation, Inc. is
                providing speakers, job shadowing opportunities,
                theater visits and support for a summer talent series
                as part of this new program.
