TOPIC: Teacher training programs aren't making the grade when it comes to
teaching management, according to experts in a recent Washington Post story.
Some universities don't require prospective teachers to take any courses
focused on keeping children under control, the story said. In addition, many
states do not require proof of adequate classroom management skills, despite an
increased stress on subject matter and pedagogy, the story said. Meanwhile, a
nationwide teacher shortage continues to grow and every year new teachers quit
