WHAT: Dr. J.C. Chiao from Chorum Technologies in Richardson,
Texas, will present Advancements in Liquid Crystal Technology
for Communications Networks at the 13th annual ElectroniCast
Corporation Conference: Fiber Optics for the Next Decade. The
conference, co-sponsored by Chorum Technologies, provides
industry executives with information on market size and growth
trends of the global fiber optics communication industry.
WHO: Dr. Jung-Chih (J.C.) Chiao, Senior Technical Advisor, Chorum
Technologies
Dr. Chiao is Chorum Technologies' senior technical advisor for
liquid crystal products, including attenuators, switches,
cross connects, attenuator arrays, harmonic equalizers and
advanced optical processors. Prior to Chorum he served as a
research scientist at Telcordia in the Optical Networking
Systems and Testbeds group. He also was an assistant professor
and is now an adjunct professor in the Department of
Electrical Engineering, University of Hawaii at Manoa. Dr.
Chiao has published 53 technical journal and conference
papers. He is one of the authors of the book Active and
Quasi-Optical Arrays and holds 14 pending patents in RF MEMS,
MEMS optics and liquid crystal technologies. He received his
Ph.D. degree from the MMIC group in the Department of
Electrical Engineering at the California Institute of
Technology in 1995.
