WHAT:     Scott Grout, president and CEO of Chorum Technologies in
          Richardson, Texas, will make a presentation at the 11th
          Wireless and Optical Conference (WOCC), entitled
          Telecommunications: Adolescence to Adulthood. In this
          presentation, Grout will offer perspectives on the current
          state and structure of the networking industry, as well as
          his thoughts on how the industry will evolve, recover and
          prosper. The theme of this year's WOCC conference is
          "Riding the Next Wave: Technologies Leading to and
          Substantiating Telecommunication Industry Recovery."
          WOCC is jointly organized by the Chinese Institute of
          Engineers, U.S.A.; the Chinese Association of Science and
          Technology; the Chinese American Academic and Professional
          Society; and the Monte Jade Science and Technology
          Association. WOCC is sponsored by Aaeon, Acer, AT&T,

WHO:      Scott Grout has been president and CEO of Chorum
          Technologies since 1998. Since his appointment, the company
          has grown from a strong, technology-focused company, to a
          company with a broad product family and volume deliveries to
          many leading next-generation optical communications
          providers. Grout has 17 years of fiber-optic, communications
          systems and networking experience. Before joining Chorum
          Technologies, he was vice president of product management
          and marketing in Lucent Technologies' Optical Networking
          Group. Grout holds a bachelor of science degree in
          engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and
          a master of business administration degree from the
          Sloan School at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
