WHAT:   Scott Grout, president and CEO of Chorum Technologies in
        Richardson, Texas, will participate in the CIBC World Markets
        Annual Investor Conference, Wall Street's oldest and largest
        integrated communications conference focused specifically on
        the telecommunications food chain. This conference will
        provide a unique look into all sectors of the communications
        industry -- from devices and subsystems, to systems equipment,
        software and services. This conference seeks to provide
        investment professionals with a better understanding of which
        companies, technologies and applications are best positioned
        to benefit within the current demanding environment.

WHO:    Scott Grout has been president and CEO of Chorum Technologies
        since 1998. Since his appointment, the company has grown from
        a strong, technology-focused company, to a company with a
        broad product family and volume deliveries to many leading
        next-generation optical communications providers. Grout has 17
        years of fiber-optic, communications systems and networking
        experience. Before joining Chorum Technologies, he was vice
        president of product management and marketing in Lucent
        Technologies' Optical Networking Group.

        Grout holds a bachelor of science degree in engineering from
        the University of Wisconsin - Madison and a master of
        business administration degree from the Sloan School at
        the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
