WHAT:             Chilean President Ricardo Lagos is scheduled to
                  visit Miami on Sunday, November 11, 2001, to
                  participate in the grand opening ceremonies for
                  LanChile's new facilities at Miami International
                  Airport.

                  LanChile is doubling the size of its operations in
                  Miami-Dade County, making the company the largest
                  cargo facility at Miami International Airport, as
                  well as one of the largest employers in Miami-Dade
                  County with 950 local employees. The $55 million
                  project, encompassing more than 44 acres, is
                  constructed on the largest parcel of land ever
                  granted to a foreign carrier anywhere in the U.S.
                  The more than 400,000 square-foot development
                  includes state-of-the-art cargo handling facilities,
                  as well as the new North American corporate
                  headquarters offices for both passenger and cargo
                  operations.

                  ceremonies with Chilean President Ricardo Lagos.
                  Local and international community leaders, airport
                  officials and shareholders will also be attending.
