News/Assignment Editors

Advisory...for Monday (Aug. 12)

--(BUSINESS WIRE)

      Elvis' Hit Movie "Viva Las Vegas" Ends Summer Film Series;
Fans are Asked to Don Their Wigs, Sunglasses, and Best
                         Elvis Singing Voices

WHAT: What do you get when you cross thousands of Elvis
look-alikes with the Washington Monument? The grand finale of
the 4th Annual "Screen on the Green" film festival sponsored
by HBO and America Online. On Monday, August 12, 2002,
Washingtonians will celebrate Elvis - just four days before
the 25th anniversary of the King's death - with a special
screening of the hit classic film, "Viva Las Vegas." Elvis
fans are asked to show their support for the King by wearing
their Elvis jackets, wigs, sunglasses and other costume wear
to the film. Elvis singing voices and dance moves are
        optional.

The free outdoor film festival began in July with the hit musical,
"On the Town," starring Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly and leading lady Ann
Miller, who joined the crowd at the Washington Monument to introduce
the movie. Since then, three other films, including "Strangers on a
Train," "Blackboard Jungle," and "The Yearling," have drawn tens of
thousands of people each night, despite the record heat.
The films are provided courtesy of Warner Bros. Domestic Cable
Distribution.
About the film: Sports car enthusiast Lucky (Elvis Presley) plans
to race in the Las Vegas Grand Prix - but he and his Italian arch
rival/buddy (Cesare Danova) become distracted by the chassis of pretty
swimming instructor Rusty (Ann-Margret). Lively and romantic comedy
with energetic hip-swiveling (his and hers) and plenty of tunes from
the King ("The Yellow Rose of Texas," anyone?) (MGM, 1964).

WHEN: Monday, August 12, 2002 at sunset.

WHERE: The film will be shown on a giant 20' x 40' outdoor screen
at 17th Street and Constitution Avenue on the grounds of the
        Washington Monument in Washington, D.C.

WHO: Everyone is invited. Screen on the Green is free and open to
        the public.

CONTACT: For more information, call the "Screen on the Green"
hotline at 1-877-262-5866 or visit the festival's Web site at
AOL Keyword: Screen on the Green or
